How to Connect Your TSC Barcode Printer to WiFi — Step-by-Step Guide India

Connecting your TSC barcode printer to WiFi gives your team the freedom to print labels from any computer or mobile device on your network — without running USB cables across the warehouse floor. This guide covers how to set up WiFi on your TSC printer step by step, how Ethernet and WiFi work together, how to add WiFi as a field upgrade, and how to troubleshoot connectivity problems.

Which TSC Printers Support WiFi?

WiFi is available on many TSC printers either as a built-in feature or as an optional field-installable kit. Here's how to check:

  • Built-in WiFi models: TSC MH241T, MH341P, MB241T, MB340T and selected industrial models include WiFi as standard in the -W suffix models (e.g., MH241T-W)
  • Field-installable WiFi kit: Most TSC desktop and industrial printers support a WiFi module that can be installed without sending the printer to a service centre. Contact Infinite Solutions to confirm availability for your specific model.
  • Check your printer: Look at the rear panel or internal interface slot. If there is an empty expansion slot, a WiFi field kit can be installed.

Good news from TSC's official FAQ: WiFi and Bluetooth options can be installed as field kits on most TSC printers — you don't need to buy a new printer to get wireless connectivity.

WiFi vs Ethernet — Can I Run Both at the Same Time?

This is a very common question. The answer is: no, not simultaneously.

According to TSC's official specification, a WiFi-equipped TSC printer can be configured for either Ethernet (wired) or WiFi (wireless) operation — but not both at the same time. The rule is:

  • If an Ethernet cable is connected and active, the Ethernet interface takes priority and WiFi is inactive
  • If no Ethernet cable is connected, the WiFi interface is active

This means you can switch between wired and wireless simply by plugging or unplugging the Ethernet cable — no reconfiguration needed.

Step-by-Step: How to Connect Your TSC Printer to WiFi

Step 1 — Confirm Your Printer Has WiFi

  1. Power on the printer and press the Menu button
  2. Navigate to Interface or Network settings
  3. If you see a WLAN or WiFi option — your printer supports wireless
  4. If no WiFi option is visible, a WiFi field kit can be added — contact Infinite Solutions

Step 2 — Access the Printer's Network Settings

  1. On the printer's control panel, press Menu
  2. Navigate to Interface → WLAN
  3. Set WLAN to Enable
  4. Navigate to SSID and enter your WiFi network name (case-sensitive)
  5. Navigate to Password / Security Key and enter your WiFi password
  6. Set the Security Mode to match your router: WPA2-Personal is most common in India
  7. Save the settings and restart the printer

Step 3 — Find the Printer's IP Address

  1. After restart, go to Menu → Interface → WLAN
  2. The printer will show its assigned IP address once connected to your network
  3. Alternatively, print a configuration label: hold the Feed button while powering on — the IP address is printed on the label
  4. Note this IP address — you will need it to add the printer on your computers

Step 4 — Add the TSC Printer on Windows via Network

  1. Open Control Panel → Devices and Printers → Add a Printer
  2. Select Add a network, wireless or Bluetooth printer
  3. If the TSC printer is found automatically — click it and proceed
  4. If not found: click The printer I want isn't listed
  5. Select Add a printer using a TCP/IP address or hostname
  6. Enter the printer's IP address noted in Step 3
  7. Windows will install the driver — select your TSC model from the list or browse to the TSC driver folder
  8. Print a test page to confirm the connection

Step 5 — Add the TSC Printer on Mac via Network

  1. Go to System Settings → Printers & Scanners → + Add Printer
  2. Click the IP tab
  3. Enter the TSC printer's IP address in the Address field
  4. Set Protocol to Line Printer Daemon – LPD
  5. In the Use dropdown, select Other... and navigate to your TSC PPD file in Applications → TSC_MAC-driver → PPDs
  6. Select the PPD for your model and click Add
  7. Print a test page to confirm

Remote Printer Management via Web Browser

Once your TSC printer is connected to your network, you can manage it remotely from any browser on the same network — no software required. This is one of the most useful and underused features of TSC network printers.

  1. Open any browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox) on your computer or phone
  2. Type the printer's IP address into the address bar and press Enter
  3. The TSC Internal Embedded Webpage opens — a full web UI for the printer
  4. From here you can: check printer status, change settings, update configuration, view print history and troubleshoot — all without being physically near the printer

This is especially useful for warehouse managers overseeing multiple printers across a large floor, or IT managers maintaining a fleet of TSC printers across multiple locations.

How to Add WiFi as a Field Kit to Your Existing TSC Printer

If your current TSC printer doesn't have WiFi but you want to add it, a field kit is the answer. According to TSC's official FAQ, WiFi and Bluetooth options can be installed as field kits on most TSC models — no factory return required.

The process:

  1. Contact Infinite Solutions with your TSC printer model and serial number
  2. We confirm availability of the WiFi field kit for your model
  3. The kit is supplied with installation instructions
  4. Installation typically involves inserting the WiFi module into the expansion slot inside the printer — a 10-minute process requiring only a screwdriver
  5. After installation, follow the WiFi setup steps above

TSC Console Web — Managing Your Entire Printer Fleet Remotely

For businesses with multiple TSC printers, TSC Console Web is a free browser-based tool that lets you manage, monitor and update all your printers from a single dashboard.

  • Set rules: time-based or event-driven (e.g. send alert when paper runs out)

TSC Console Web is especially valuable for ecommerce fulfilment centres, manufacturing plants and logistics operations running 5+ TSC printers. Contact Infinite Solutions for setup assistance.

Troubleshooting TSC WiFi Connection Problems

Printer connects but shows offline on the computer

The IP address may have changed if your router assigns addresses dynamically (DHCP). Fix: Set a static IP address on the printer via Menu → Interface → WLAN → IP Setting → Static. Assign an IP outside your router's DHCP range (e.g. 192.168.1.200). Update the printer's IP in Windows Devices and Printers.

Printer does not connect to WiFi after entering credentials

Check: (1) SSID is correct — case-sensitive, no extra spaces. (2) Password is correct. (3) Security mode matches your router (WPA2 is standard). (4) Your router's 2.4GHz band is active — some TSC WiFi modules support 2.4GHz only, not 5GHz.

Print jobs sent over network are slow

Large label files or high-DPI jobs can be slow over WiFi. For high-volume operations, Ethernet is always faster and more reliable. Consider a wired connection for printers printing 500+ labels per day.

Printer shows IP address of 0.0.0.0

The printer hasn't received an IP from your router. Check that the SSID and password are correct, the WiFi module is properly seated, and the router is within range. Try moving the printer closer to the router and re-entering credentials.
