You’ve just bought a TSC barcode printer, plugged it into your MacBook — and nothing happens. No driver prompt, no automatic setup, and the Printers & Scanners list in System Settings shows nothing. Sound familiar? Mac users face this every single day with thermal label printers because unlike inkjet printers, TSC barcode printers require a manual driver installation. This guide walks you through the entire process from scratch — from downloading the correct driver to printing your first Amazon Easy Ship label — in clear, numbered steps. Works on macOS Sequoia (15), Sonoma (14), Ventura (13), Monterey (12) and Big Sur (11).
What You Will Need Before You Start
- A TSC barcode printer — DA220, DA310, TE210, TE310, TTP244 Pro or any TSC model
- A Mac running macOS Big Sur (11) or later — including macOS Sequoia (15)
- A USB cable (Type-A to Type-B square-end printer cable) — included with your TSC printer
- If your Mac has only USB-C ports: a USB-C to USB-A adapter
- A 4″ x 6″ direct thermal label roll loaded in the printer
- An internet connection to download the driver
- Your Mac administrator password
Important: Do NOT connect your TSC printer to your Mac via USB before completing Step 3. Always install the driver first.
Part 1 — How to Install the TSC Printer Driver on Mac
Step 1 — Download the Official TSC Mac Driver
- Open Safari or any browser on your Mac
- Go to apac.tscprinters.com
- Click Support → Downloads
- Search your printer model — e.g. DA220, DA310 or TE210
- On the model download page, scroll to the Mac Driver section
- Download tsc-1.29-install_1.zip (approx. 5 MB)
- The ZIP saves to your Downloads folder
Compatible with: macOS 10.x through 15.x (Sequoia). Works on Intel Macs and Apple Silicon M1/M2/M3/M4.
Step 2 — Extract the Driver and Move It to Applications
- Open your Downloads folder in Finder
- Double-click the ZIP file to extract it — a folder named TSC_MAC-driver appears
- Drag and drop the entire TSC_MAC-driver folder into your Applications folder
Why Applications? The TSC installer references its own file path. If the folder is anywhere else — Desktop, Downloads, Documents — the PPD file will not load and installation fails silently.
Step 3 — Run the TSC Mac Installer
- Open your Applications folder
- Open the TSC_MAC-driver folder
- Double-click Mac TSC Setup.pkg
- Click Continue → Install
- Enter your administrator password and click Install Software
- Click Close when done
Getting an “unidentified developer” error? This is normal macOS Gatekeeper behaviour — not a virus warning.
- Click OK to dismiss the warning
- Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security
- Scroll down and click Open Anyway
- Enter your password — the installer opens normally
Step 4 — Connect Your TSC Printer to Your Mac
- Switch the printer off
- Connect the USB cable — square Type-B end into the printer, flat Type-A end into your Mac
- Confirm the label roll is loaded — labels facing up
- Switch the printer on
- Wait 10–15 seconds for it to initialise
Step 5 — Add the TSC Printer in macOS System Settings
- Apple menu → System Settings → Printers & Scanners
- Click the + Add Printer button
- Your TSC printer appears in the list — click it to select
- In the Use dropdown, select Other...
- Navigate to Applications → TSC_MAC-driver → PPDs
- Select the PPD file matching your model — e.g. DA220.ppd
- Click Open, then click Add
- If a Repair prompt appears, click Repair — this is normal
Step 6 — Print a Test Label
- In Printers & Scanners, click your TSC printer → Open Print Queue
- Click Printer → Print Test Page
- If the test label prints — your TSC printer is fully installed on your Mac
Part 2 — Set the Correct Label Size for Amazon Easy Ship on Mac
Step 7 — Create a Custom 100mm x 150mm Paper Size
- Open any app → press Command + P to open Print dialog
- Click Paper Size → Manage Custom Sizes...
- Click + to add a new size
- Name it: Amazon Shipping Label
- Width: 100 mm, Height: 150 mm
- All margins: 0 mm
- Click OK
Step 8 — Set Print Darkness
- In the Print dialog, click Show Details
- Select Printer Features from the dropdown
- Set Print Darkness to 10–12
- Set Print Speed to 4 ips
Part 3 — How to Print Amazon Easy Ship Labels on Mac
Step 9 — Download Your Amazon Label from Seller Central
- Open Safari or Chrome on your Mac
- Log in to sellercentral.amazon.in
- Go to Orders → Manage Orders
- Click Buy Shipping on the order
- Select Amazon Easy Ship, choose pickup slot, confirm
- Click Download Label — save as PDF
Step 10 — Open the PDF in Preview (Not in Your Browser)
Always open Amazon label PDFs in Preview — not Safari or Chrome. Browser PDF viewers override paper size settings and cause label errors.
- Go to Downloads, double-click the PDF — it opens in Preview
- If it opens elsewhere: right-click → Open With → Preview
Step 11 — Print Settings and Print
- In Preview, press Command + P
- Select your TSC printer
- Paper Size: Amazon Shipping Label (your custom size)
- Click Show Details
- Scale: 100% — never scale up or down; this distorts barcodes
- Orientation: Portrait
- Click Print
Step 12 — Bulk Print Multiple Amazon Labels on Mac
- In Manage Orders, check all orders to dispatch
- Click Print All Labels — Amazon creates a multi-page PDF
- Open in Preview → Command + P → TSC printer → Amazon Shipping Label size → 100% scale
- Page range: All → Click Print
Troubleshooting — Common TSC Mac Problems and Fixes
Printer not appearing in Add Printer list
Switch printer off, unplug USB, wait 10 seconds, reconnect, switch on, wait 15 seconds, then try Add Printer again.
“Unidentified developer” warning
Normal macOS security. Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security → click Open Anyway.
PPD file not found — PPDs folder is empty
TSC_MAC-driver folder is not in Applications. Move it from wherever it is into Applications, then redo Step 5.
Labels printing blank
Label roll loaded upside down. Flip it so the thermal (coated) side faces up toward the printhead.
Label too large, gets cut off
Custom paper size margins not set to 0mm, or Scale is not 100%. Check both settings.
Barcode has white streaks
Increase darkness to 12–14. If streaks persist, clean the printhead with isopropyl alcohol wipe. For printhead replacement, contact Infinite Solutions.
Printer shows offline
Open Print Queue → Resume Printer. If still offline, delete and re-add the printer.

Set Orientation to Portrait in print dialog. Ensure custom size has Width 100mm and Height 150mm.
