Ask five different barcode resellers in India which desktop printer they sell the most of, and there's a good chance at least three of them will say some version of the TSC TA220 barcode printer. It's not the newest or the flashiest printer in TSC's lineup, but it's the one that quietly handles the bulk of everyday label printing at retail counters, courier desks, and small warehouses across the country — and there's a reason for that.
The TA220 sits a notch above TSC's most basic models in processing power and memory, without stepping up into industrial-printer pricing. That middle ground is exactly where most Indian SMEs actually live.
What's Under the Hood: TSC TA220 Specifications
- Print width: 4 inches, suited to most shipping, shelf, and product labels
- Resolution: 203 dpi standard
- Print speed: Up to 5 inches per second (127 mm/sec)
- Processor and memory: 400 MHz 32-bit RISC processor with 64 MB SDRAM and 128 MB flash memory — noticeably more headroom than entry-level TSC desktop models
- Print methods: Both thermal transfer (with ribbon) and direct thermal
- Connectivity: USB 2.0 standard, with Ethernet and serial available as options
- Media support: Continuous rolls, die-cut labels, black mark stock, fan-fold, and notched media
That extra memory and processing power matter more than people expect — it's what keeps the TA220 from choking when you send it a complex label with multiple barcodes, logos, or variable data fields, which is common in retail and logistics labeling.
Industries Where the TA220 Does Its Best Work
We sell the TSC TA220 barcode printer most often into retail checkout counters printing price and promotion labels, warehouse dispatch desks generating shipping labels, point-of-sale setups in apparel and FMCG stores, and small-to-mid logistics operations across Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Pune that need a printer running multiple hours a day without drama. If your business prints labels continuously through a shift rather than in short bursts, the TA220's extra processing capacity is the difference that actually shows up in uptime.
The One Feature That Sets the TA220 Apart
What we point out to customers comparing the TA220 against similarly priced competitors is its connectivity flexibility. A lot of budget desktop printers ship USB-only, which is fine until you want to put the printer on a network and let multiple billing terminals or systems print to it. The TA220's optional Ethernet support means you can deploy it as a shared network printer in a small office or shop floor without buying a separate print server — something we get asked about constantly by retail customers running more than one billing counter.
Service That Doesn't Disappear After the Sale
Infinite Solutions is an authorised TSC Auto ID dealer, and we treat that authorisation as a responsibility, not just a label. When you buy a TSC TA220 from us, you get genuine TSC firmware and parts, a vendor who can walk you through driver setup or BarTender integration over the phone, and access to our Delhi-based service desk if anything needs attention down the line. We support customers directly across Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Pune, and we ship pan-India beyond that.
We also don't push AMC contracts that tie you to buying ribbons or labels exclusively from us. Some dealers in India structure their service contracts that way; we'd rather earn your repeat business by being good at service, not by locking you in.
