The Printronix T8206 is the 6-inch, 203 dpi model of the T8000 industrial series. It prints by thermal transfer or direct thermal at up to 12 inches per second across 6.6 inches (168 mm). It is the workhorse choice for wide shipping, carton and pallet labels where speed matters more than fine detail.

How it compares
The T8306 adds 300 dpi for small 2D codes and dense text, at 10 ips. For 4-inch labels only, the T8204 is faster and uses narrower, cheaper ribbons.
Frequently asked questions
Does the T8206 need a ribbon?
Use a ribbon for thermal transfer labels that must last, such as outdoor, chemical or synthetic labels. Direct thermal paper labels need no ribbon. The printer takes 2 to 6.8-inch ribbons up to 625 m long.
Is it compatible with BarTender?
Yes. BarTender works with Printronix Auto ID printers through Windows drivers, and the printer also accepts direct ERP output through its printer language emulations. See label design software.
