The Printronix T8304 is the 4-inch, 300 dpi member of the T8000 series of industrial printers. It prints by thermal transfer or direct thermal at up to 12 inches per second over a 4.1-inch (104 mm) width. Choose it when your labels carry small 2D codes, fine text or compliance marks that 203 dpi cannot render cleanly.

Best for
Pharmaceutical and medical device labels, electronics and component labels with small DataMatrix codes, automotive part labels, laboratory and specimen labels, and product labels with dense text and logos. It is also a good choice for resin-ribbon printing on polyester and other synthetic stock.
How it compares
The T8204 trades resolution for a top speed of 14 ips and suits plain shipping labels. If every code must be proven readable, the T8304 with ODV-2D verifier adds inline grading and automatic reprint. For lighter duty, consider the T6304e.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need 300 dpi or is 203 dpi enough?
For 2D codes, small fonts or graphics, 300 dpi prints sharper and scans more reliably. The printhead is user-swappable, so you can change resolution later.
Which labels and ribbons does it support?
